Waterline is a material, historical and aesthetic exploration of the red paint on the bottom of ship hulls. The video traces the field of relations through which this space, marked by the red paint, has materialized. As the friction between barnacles, an invasive species, and cargo ships blur the waterline, this in-formed space of the in-between emerges as a tool to investigate the colonial roots of maritime trade and its environmental repercussions.
